Contour lines on topographical maps connect points of equal elevation, helping us understand the shape and height of land features.
How it works
These maps use standard symbols to represent features like forests, buildings, roads, and water bodies clearly and consistently.
Why it matters
Topographical sheets are usually made at a large scale, showing great detail for a relatively small area.
