Practice and Revision - Plant and Animal Tissues
Let us practise and revise what we learned about plant and animal tissues. Tissues are groups of similar cells performing specific functions
Core concept
Plant tissues include xylem (transports water and minerals) and phloem (transports food made by leaves) throughout the plant.
How it works
Meristematic tissue in plants allows continuous growth, found in areas like root tips and shoot tips.
Why it matters
Animal tissues include muscle tissue (movement), nerve tissue (sending signals), and epithelial tissue (covering and protection).
Key detail
Understanding tissues helps us see how specialised cells work together to perform specific functions in living organisms.
