Practice and Revision - Mensuration (Perimeter and Area of Plane Figures)
Let us practise and revise what we learned about mensuration (perimeter and area of plane figures). Mensuration involves calculating the per
Core concept
The perimeter of a shape is the total length around its boundary, calculated by adding all side lengths.
How it works
The area of a rectangle is length × width, while the area of a triangle is (1/2) × base × height.
Why it matters
The area of a square is side × side, and the area of a circle is π × radius², using the constant pi (approximately 3.14).
Key detail
Mensuration skills are useful in real life for tasks like calculating flooring, fencing, or paint needed for a wall.
