Measurement
Measurement involves comparing a quantity to a standard unit, and understanding measurement of length, area, and volume is essential in scie
Core concept
Length is measured using standard units like metres and centimetres, using tools like rulers and measuring tapes.
How it works
Area is the amount of surface a shape covers, calculated for a rectangle as length × width, measured in square units.
Why it matters
Volume is the amount of space an object occupies, calculated for a cuboid as length × width × height, measured in cubic units.
Key detail
Accurate measurement is essential in science experiments, construction, and daily activities requiring precise quantities.
