Beyond the Sky
Beyond Earth's sky lies the vast universe, including stars, planets, and galaxies, and understanding space helps us appreciate our place in
Core concept
The universe contains billions of galaxies, each containing billions of stars, with our solar system being part of the Milky Way galaxy.
How it works
Stars are massive balls of burning gas that produce their own light and heat, unlike planets which reflect light from stars.
Why it matters
Our solar system includes the sun and eight planets, including Earth, all orbiting the sun due to its gravitational pull.
Key detail
Space exploration through telescopes and spacecraft has helped scientists learn more about our universe and possibilities beyond Earth.
